2008 Democrat of the Year Awards

RSVP at 213-382-4111 or by clicking here.

At the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party honors a man and a woman from each Assembly District as the Democrat of the Year.

These men and women are the grassroots activists who every day give generously of their time and energy to help elect Democrats at all levels of government. They will be on the front lines in the coming year as we fight to take back the White House and increase our Democratic majorities in Congress and the state legislature.

Opportunities are still available to become a sponsor of the event, to place an ad in the commemorative program journal and to purchase tickets to attend the event.

Please call 213-382-4111 or click here to make your reservation today!

We hope that you will join with us as part of the “big blue wave” by supporting this wonderful event. Your contribution will enable us to deliver our Democratic message of hope, strength and empowerment to the more than 2 million Democrats of Los Angles County.

By Taking the Metro to the Democrat of the Year Awards

Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster wishes to remind all guests that they can take the Metro to the Queen Mary for the Democrat of the Year Awards.

Simply enter the Metro system at any of the stops for the Red, Blue, Orange, or Green Lines, and head towards the Long Beach Transit Center (the last stop on the Blue Line) where buses regularly depart for the Queen Mary every 15 minutes.

Demand permitting, Mayor Foster will arrange for a dedicated bus line leaving the Queen Mary for the Long Beach Transit Center at 10:30 PM after the event. (Otherwise, be sure to be on last bus back by 10:15 PM and let the Metro take you home!)
