In a 60-40 vote last night, the U.S. Senate voted to end the GOP filibuster of the health care reform bill.
The Los Angeles County Democratic Party congratulates the Democrats in the Senate for moving America one step closer to ensuring quality, affordable health care for all Americans.
LACDP Chair Eric C. Bauman said, “We believe the reforms included in this bill will improve health care for millions of Americans and are an important first step towards the ultimate goal of a Medicare-for-all-type health care system.”
We urge all Democratic Senators to stand together to reform our health care system by voting for the final passage of the health care reform bill on Christmas eve.
Finally, we urge both houses of Congress to craft a final health care reform package that addresses the needs of all Americans.
