  1. Mr. R. Green says:

re City of Carson election on March 8, 2011. It should be known that the current City Treasurer Karen AVILA lost almost Half a MILLION TAXPAYERS Dollars thru her negligence! Not all of the cities money has been recovered either. Now she is lying about how it happend and she refused to take a lie detector test. The FBI and L A Sheriff are still investigating. She may not be criminally libel but she shouldn't be trusted with our money any longer!!! Other well qualified canadetes are running for her job.

  2. Rick says:

Why no endorsement for Larry Forester & Tina Hansen in Signal Hill?

  3. Joyk says:

I agree with all the recommendations except for taxing marijuana collectives. If they are not legal, then taxing them will just be one more way to harass them (for tax evasion) or for selling (after they pay taxes) . So if you support the legalization of Marijuana, I don't see how you can vote for this.

  4. Kim says:

No on M. The clinics already pay taxes…these collectives supply vital medicine for the ill.
Wait until marijuana is legal and tax the sales for recreation – don't raise taxes on medical uses.

  5. P J Evans says:

I was already not going to vote for Englander: he's plastered the district with signs, over the last two-plus months, and I got something like eight fliers and a phone call in the space of two weeks in February (including one with an endorsement from Riordan, which is guaranteed to make me vote for Someone Else).

Incidentally, earlier today I saw a couple of guys (with a white pickup truck) nailing yet another Englander sign to a real-estate-development sign. (There was already at least one Englander sign there.) I hope that the local election commission and the city attorney (or the DA) notice this sort of thing.
