As we move into General Election 2014, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party will focus its efforts on races that are critical or contested, especially those here in Los Angeles and in key surrounding areas.
Our 2014 targets include the following contests: LA County candidates Sheila Kuehl and Jeff Prang; Assembly candidates Steve Fox, Al Muratsuchi, Mike Gibson, Sharon Quirk-Silva and Jacqui Irwin; State Senate candidates Tony Mendoza and Jose Solorio; Congressional candidates Julia Brownley, Ted Lieu and Pete Aguilar, as well as other important local races.
At the statewide level, we will pay particular attention to Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, Secretary of State candidate Alex Padilla and State Controller candidate Betty Yee, as well as those ballot measures that our members support or oppose.
As always, our Red Zone program will focus on those candidates running in red and purple districts in an effort to help transform those areas into a new shade of vibrant blue.
In preparation for the campaign, we will be hosting a Democratic Club and Activist Summit at Cal State University Los Angeles on September 13th. Please save the date, more information will be available shortly.
LACDP will also be working with our candidates and Democratic Clubs to ensure a robust and visible Democratic presence across LA County, with many opportunities for phone banking, precinct walking and other campaign related activities.
Visit our website or Facebook page often for updated information about where and how you can engage with us to ensure LA’s 2.4 million Democrats cause a big blue wave to roll across California on Election Day.
