LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County Democratic Party Chair and California Democratic Party Vice Chair Eric C. Bauman released the following statement condemning the hacking of Democratic State Senate candidate Darren Parker’s website in the District 17 special election:

“The Los Angeles County Democratic Party strongly condemns the hacking of Democratic State Senate candidate Darren Parker’s website in District 17. These underhanded pre-Election Day shenanigans serve no purpose; they do not move our community forward, help solve our problems or promote civic participation. The electoral process is sacred, and must not be undermined by abusive behavior.

“Clearly the Runner campaign has no positive message for our community; we urge voters not to be sidetracked by the politics of distraction. Please vote for the candidate who believes in our community’s potential and our future: I ask you to vote for Darren Parker for State Senate on Election Day.”
