Los Angeles County Democratic Party Vice Chairs Bobbie Jean Anderson and Mark Gonzalez released the following statement upon the unveiling of Trump’s decision to end DACA, announced by Attorney General Jeff Sessions:
“President Trump’s decision to end DACA is the culmination of the cowardly xenophobic rhetoric that Americans have been subjected to since he began his Presidential campaign. In California alone, DACA has helped over 200,000 Dreamers live, earn a living, and improve the quality of life for their families and all in our society regardless of Party affiliation or political stance. As the President threatens to tear law-abiding families apart, we will continue to fight for the rights of every Dreamer and every Californian with evermore strengthened vigor.”
The Los Angeles County Democratic Party has informational material for any Dreamer concerned for their security at http://www.lacdp.org/10926-2/ and will be organizing workshops and programs for any and all affected by this disastrous repeal.
“The most important thing to do after pressing Congress to ensure that a DACA repeal does not occur is to work harder than ever before to take back the House in 2018. California has an opportunity and a moral obligation to make the difference and give our Congress back to the people. LACDP will campaign tirelessly so that this divisive, hateful, shortsighted, and disastrous GOP no longer has the power to rip families apart.”
