LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) has voted unanimously to oppose the proposed recall in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District for all targeted board members. The recall attempt is currently in the petition-gathering phase.

“In order to rebuild our economy and maintain America’s global competitiveness, we need to ensure that our kids receive a high quality education, including an understanding of the diversity of our culture and our community. The proponents of the recall are misguided and are using a xenophobic political ploy to confuse voters. They are employing scare tactics to demonize language-and-cultural studies programs that help our kids learn about those around them. This is not the right way to address such concerns in our democracy. The Democratic Party strongly urges the voters of Hacienda La Puente School District to oppose the recall and decline to sign recall petition,” said Eric C. Bauman, Chair of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.
