Los Angeles County Democratic Party Chair Eric C. Bauman
Statement on the June 8, 2010 Election Results

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) Chair Eric C. Bauman released the following statement in regards to the June 8, 2010 election results:

“On behalf of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, I congratulate Mike Gatto on his victory in the 43rd Assembly District Special General Election – making him the newest member of the California State Assembly. He will be an extraordinary legislator and an important ally in the fight to protect California’s working families.

“I congratulate Attorney General Jerry Brown, our gubernatorial nominee, Senator Barbara Boxer and all the Democratic candidates who were victorious in yesterday’s election. The Los Angeles County Democratic Party looks forward to working with and campaigning on behalf of each of these outstanding nominees.

“I also commend all the other Democrats who competed in yesterday’s Primary Election and thank them for their commitment to make life better for all Californians.

“Despite the Republicans spending more than $100 million to turn their base out to vote, more Democrats voted in the June 8, 2010 elections than did Republicans. For all the millions spent creating new and evolving identities for the Republican candidates, Californians will not be fooled and their votes cannot be bought. The values of the Democratic Party are those of the majority of Californians and this will be proven once again with a resounding Democratic victory this November.”
