Today, Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was in Glendale holding a press conference to denounce a Recovery Act project that she said is an example of taxpayer waste. What she didn’t seem to realize is that the Recovery Act recipient has already agreed to refund the taxpayers for their investment.

Kam Kuwata, of CEO Watch, responded, “Today you were caught making another mistake about the Recovery Act. But you are making an even greater mistake in holding the middle class hostage by opposing a tax cut for those who earn less than $250,000 a year. Ms. Fiorina, do the right thing and support tax relief for millions of hard working California families Republican Leader Boehner was willing to flip-flop on middle class tax relief. You should be willing to flip-flop too.”
Fiorina has a habit of getting embarrassed by inconvenient facts about the Recovery Act. In June, while trying to criticize the Recovery Act, Fiorina appeared at a business in Clovis that touts the benefits of the law on its website. [Fresno Bee, 6/15/10] Fiorina then repeated her mistake days later by visiting a business in Sacramento that has earned a Recovery Act contract to expand a child development center to help military families at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore.
