Resolution to Repeal/Challenge Prop 8
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party had taken a position opposed to Ballot Proposition 8 on the November, 2008 ballot, and
WHEREAS, there are constitutional questions that have been raised upon review of the public vote of the electorate and it’s language and impact, and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party has taken a position opposed to all discrimination and in support for the LGBT community.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Los Angeles County Democratic Party join with others in an amicus brief to support the repeal of Prop 8’s provisions, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Los Angeles County Democratic Party supports Attorney General Jerry Brown in his challenge of the legality of Proposition 8.
