Support for California Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno

Whereas, the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8 after listening to well reasoned arguments from both its proponents and opponents; and

Whereas, the Justices of the California Supreme Court did their duty to the people of the state of California by interpreting California’s Constitution and laws in the Proposition 8 case; and

Whereas, Justice Moreno is being threatened with recall for giving his sincere views in a lonely but passionate dissent

Therefore be it resolved, that the Los Angeles County Democratic Party sincerely appreciates Justice Moreno for giving his honest views and at the same time opposes efforts to recall him, and

Be it further resolved, that copies of this resolution be sent to Justice Moreno, Attorney General Brown, and the Democratic members of the Assembly and Senate judiciary committees.
