LACDP Chair Mark J Gonzalez statement
on President Biden's 2022 State of the Union Address

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA --

Following President Biden's 2022 State of the Union Address, LACDP Chair Mark J. Gonzalez issued the following statement:

"Tonight, President Biden assured an anxious nation that our economic recovery post-pandemic has made historic gains, that our nation stands united with Ukraine and our allies to push back against Russian aggression and that the state of our union is strong and getting stronger.

Thanks to the bipartisan American Rescue Plan, families, businesses and communities know that the President and Vice President Harris are investing in America’s future, creating good-paying jobs to keep food on tables and refocus on much-needed infrastructure projects across Los Angeles and our nation. American workers have been reassured that they have a fighter who will fight for worker protections and fair wages by pushing to ensure the passage of the PRO Act and buying American and Building a Better America. Our most vulnerable communities, women, black, brown, and API communities, LGBTQ+ and more who have been under attack know that they have an Administration who have committed to protecting basic and fundamental rights.

I  was proud to be the California State Director for Biden-Harris, and I’m proud to continue to stand with President Biden, Vice President Harris, and our Democratic leadership to keep the state of our union strong, with a focus on meeting every moment and continuing to work on behalf of Los Angeles and the American people."
