LACDP Chair's Statement on the Passing of Former President Jimmy Carter

Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) Chair, Mark Ramos, released the following statement on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter:

 

"Today, a kind and decent human being has left this earth. Through his last days President Carter always found a way to pray and give back to humanity. Your quest to helping America and just “doing good” was achieved sir. May your legacy continue to inspire us all. Rest in Peace President Carter.

The passing of President Carter marks the departure of a compassionate and virtuous individual from this world. Despite his declining health, he remained committed to prayer and serving humanity. His tireless efforts towards bettering America and “doing good” have not gone unnoticed, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to be a source of inspiration for us all. We bid farewell to President Carter with utmost respect and admiration. Rest In Power."

LACDP Chair's Statement Following the LA City Council 'Sanctuary City' Vote

The Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) is proud to announce that the Los Angeles City Council has unanimously voted to declare Los Angeles a 'sanctuary city,' barring the use of city resources or personnel from contributing to federal enforcement of immigration laws. 

The LACDP is looking forward to seeing Mayor Karen Bass take the next step. The LACDP also applauds LAUSD's decision to reaffirm it's status as a "sanctuary district" for immigrants.

 

“This is the first step in protecting our values as Angelenos. We are a city that loves our people, and we open our arms and our doors to all who will be put in jeopardy by the Trump administrations discriminatory and predatory immigration enforcement. Today is a good day for Los Angeles.”

LACDP Chair's Statement Following the Results of the 2024 General Election

Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) Chair Mark Ramos acknowledged today the results of the 2024 Presidential General Election.

The LACDP affirms this free, fair, and secure election results. We remain steadfastly committed to the values that uphold our party and community and will continue to work to improve the lives of all Angelenos.

We will continue to work for the causes that we believe in - justice, equality, and the protection of our democratic institutions - regardless of the challenges we may face.
